I get asked a lot of questions about being a vegetarian. The one I get asked the most is how hard it was for me to make the change. It actually wasn’t that hard for me and here is why. I was never much of a meat-eater to begin with. I didn’t like to eat meat. I wanted to be a vegetarian back when I was in elementary school, but my parents wouldn’t allow it. There was a lot that played into it for me. I don’t think it is humane. It’s not good for the environment. It’s not necessary. It’s not all that healthy. However, this is MY opinion for MY OWN LIFE. I do not pressure or try to influence or look down on others who eat meat. And sometimes, I do miss certain things, but it doesn’t seem worth it to me.
I stay away from processed foods, especially junk food. I don’t buy it, so the temptation is never there for me. I snack healthy. My diet is filled with a lot of veggies and fruits and “good” carbs. I drink mostly water. I might have tea or coffee. I also have protein smoothies after my workouts. I try to eat a variety of foods, so my body gets the nutrition it needs. And I do buy organic, mainly because it’s better for the environment.
I also don’t smoke. I rarely drink. I partake in no drugs (except for caffeine and the occasional drink). I workout every day. I will write a post about my fitness journey soon. I stretch every day (I’ve been trying to get my splits). I meditate, read, and journal every day.
This is all easier to do some days than others, but I try my best. If you guys have any more questions, please let me know. I will try to answer them in much more detail next time!
